14-Day Saudi Arabia Premium Motorcycle Expedition

Ride across Saudi Arabia from the modern capital of Riyadh to the shores of the Red Sea on an unforgettable 14-day premium motorcycle expedition. Discover the Kingdom’s dramatic landscapes, ancient heritage, historic settlements and extraordinary desert roads as you travel through some of Saudi Arabia’s most fascinating regions.

Starting in Riyadh, our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour heads northwest through the traditional settlements and agricultural heartland of Qassim, before continuing to Hail and the remarkable ancient rock art of Jubbah. From here, the route enters the vast desert landscapes surrounding AlUla, where extraordinary scenery and thousands of years of history come together.

We spend three nights in AlUla, giving you time to explore some of Saudi Arabia’s most important archaeological and cultural treasures, including Hegra (Al-Hijr), Dadan, Jabal Ikmah, AlUla Old Town, Ashar Valley and the volcanic landscapes of Harrat Uwayrid. Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first Patrimonio dell'umanità dell'UNESCO, is one of the highlights of the journey, while Jabal Ikmah is renowned for its remarkable concentration of ancient inscriptions.

The motorcycle expedition then continues north through Tabuk and the spectacular Wadi Al Disah, before descending towards the Red Sea at Duba. From here, riders follow one of Saudi Arabia’s most scenic coastal routes through Al Wajh E Umluj A Yanbu, combining sweeping sea views with quiet coastal roads and dramatic desert scenery.

Leaving the Red Sea, the route turns inland towards Madinah, before crossing the striking black volcanic landscapes of Harrat Rahat. The journey finally reaches historic Jeddah, where this spectacular cross-country adventure comes to an end.

This is not a high-speed motorcycle tour or a technical off-road expedition. Instead, it is a carefully paced premium motorcycle journey through Saudi Arabia, designed to allow riders to fully experience the country rather than simply pass through it. Along the way, you’ll enjoy rewarding motorcycle riding, exceptional landscapes, authentic Saudi hospitality, regional cuisine, premium accommodation and some of the Kingdom’s most important historical and cultural sites.

From Riyadh to Jeddah, the desert to the Red Sea, and ancient rock art to UNESCO World Heritage sites, this 14-day Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour offers an extraordinary way to discover a country that is only now opening its most remarkable landscapes and cultural treasures to adventurous riders.

1

Day 1. Arrival in Riyadh

Your Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure begins in the modern capital, Riyadh. Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, you will be met by our team and transferred to the group hotel, where you can relax and settle in after your international journey.

The first day of this premium Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour is intentionally kept flexible, allowing guests arriving from different international destinations to arrive comfortably without the pressure of a riding schedule.

In the evening, the group comes together for a welcome dinner in Riyadh, providing the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow riders and the tour team. During the evening briefing, your tour leader introduces the 14-day motorcycle expedition, explains the route and daily riding procedures, and covers group riding formations, support vehicles, local customs, road conditions and essential safety requirements.

With the formalities complete, it’s time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead — tomorrow, we ride into the heart of Saudi Arabia.

2

Day 2. Riyadh, Motorcycle Handover & Diriyah (60 km)

After breakfast, the Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure officially gets underway. Riders are introduced to their BMW R 1300 GS motorcycles, with time allocated for documentation, equipment checks and individual motorcycle setup to ensure everyone is comfortable and ready for the days ahead.

Before leaving Riyadh, we head out on a controlled orientation ride through the Saudi capital. This first ride allows the tour leader to assess the group’s riding ability, road positioning, communication and low-speed control, while giving each rider the opportunity to become familiar with their motorcycle and the local road environment.

The riding is deliberately relaxed. This is about getting comfortable with the bike, the group and the conditions before the Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition heads deeper into the Kingdom.

In the afternoon, we turn our attention to Diriyah, one of Saudi Arabia’s most important historic destinations. We explore the remarkable heritage district of At-Turaif, the birthplace of the First Saudi State and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beautifully restored mud-brick architecture, traditional Najdi buildings and historic surroundings provide a fascinating introduction to the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.

As evening falls, Diriyah offers a striking contrast to the modern skyline of Riyadh. After experiencing the capital’s contemporary side, we begin to discover the history and traditions that shaped Saudi Arabia — setting the stage for the spectacular journey ahead.

3

Day 3. Riyadh to Qassim via Ushaiger (450 km)

Today, the Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition leaves Riyadh behind and heads northwest into the vast landscapes of central Arabia. With around 450 kilometres of riding ahead, this is our first true long-distance stage and the point where the rhythm of the journey begins to take shape.

Our route takes us towards Ushaiger, one of Saudi Arabia’s most atmospheric traditional Najdi settlements. Surrounded by the open desert landscapes of the Najd, Ushaiger is a remarkable glimpse into the Kingdom’s past, with its distinctive mud-brick houses, narrow lanes, traditional courtyards and historic mosques.

We take time to explore the old village and enjoy a hosted lunch before climbing back onto our motorcycles. Leaving Ushaiger behind, the route continues northwest towards Qassim, following quiet roads through the open landscapes of central Saudi Arabia. The changing scenery and long, flowing roads provide an excellent introduction to long-distance motorcycle touring in Saudi Arabia.

Arriving in Qassim, we settle into the region’s distinctive atmosphere and enjoy a traditional regional dinner. The evening also introduces us to Qassim’s rich agricultural and trading heritage, an important part of the region’s identity and its historic role in connecting communities across central Arabia.

After a rewarding day in the saddle, we rest in preparation for the next stage of our Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure, as the landscapes gradually become more remote and dramatic.

4

Day 4. Qassim to Hail (320 km)

We begin the day by discovering the cultural heritage of Qassim, one of central Saudi Arabia’s most important agricultural regions. Depending on local opening times and seasonal conditions, our morning experience may include a visit to Al Mithnab Traditional Village, Al Musawkaf Market, a local date farm or another specially arranged cultural encounter.

Qassim is renowned for its date farms, traditional markets, oasis landscapes and historic villages, offering a fascinating insight into the traditional way of life in central Arabia. This is a chance to step away from the motorcycles and experience the region through its people, food, agriculture and centuries-old traditions.

Back on the road, our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour heads north towards Hail, with approximately 320 kilometres of rewarding riding through the expansive landscapes of northern Arabia. The open roads and changing scenery make this another memorable stage of our cross-country motorcycle expedition.

Historically, Hail occupied a strategic position on the ancient travel and trading routes crossing northern Arabia. For centuries, travellers, traders and caravans passed through the region, making Hail an important meeting point between the Arabian Peninsula and the wider Middle East.

Arriving in Hail, we settle into the city and enjoy an evening that offers another glimpse into the region’s distinctive culture and hospitality. Tomorrow, the journey continues towards one of Saudi Arabia’s most extraordinary archaeological landscapes — Jubbah and its ancient rock art.

5

Day 5. Hail, Jubbah & the Ancient Rock Art Landscape (220 km)

Today, our Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition takes us from Hail into one of northern Arabia’s most remarkable archaeological landscapes. We ride north towards Jubbah, a spectacular desert setting surrounded by sandstone mountains and vast open landscapes.

The highlight of the day is Jabal Umm Sinman, home to an extraordinary collection of ancient rock art. The carvings and inscriptions record thousands of years of human activity, depicting people, animals and scenes from a very different Arabia. Protected by the surrounding desert landscape, Jubbah provides a remarkable connection to the region’s prehistoric past and is one of the most significant archaeological experiences on our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour.

After a guided exploration of the rock art site, we return towards Hail, following roads through the region’s dramatic desert and mountain landscapes. The relatively short riding distance leaves time to absorb the scenery and enjoy the unique character of northern Saudi Arabia.

This evening, the experience changes from archaeology to authentic Saudi hospitality. We spend the night at a professionally operated wilderness camp, surrounded by the silence of the desert. A traditional Saudi dinner, local storytelling and time around the campfire create an unforgettable evening beneath the Arabian sky.

Depending on seasonal conditions and local availability, the wilderness camp may be replaced by premium accommodation at a hotel in Hail.

Tomorrow, we leave Hail behind and continue west towards AlUla, entering one of the most spectacular landscapes of the entire Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure.

6

Day 6. Hail to AlUla (425 km)

Today is one of the great riding days of our Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition as we leave Hail behind and head west towards the extraordinary landscapes of AlUla. With approximately 425 kilometres on the road, this is a rewarding long-distance stage through some of the most remote and spectacular scenery in northern Saudi Arabia.

As we ride west, the landscape gradually transforms. Broad desert plains give way to dark volcanic terrain, rugged mountain ranges and increasingly dramatic rock formations. With every kilometre, the scenery becomes more distinctive until the spectacular sandstone cliffs and oasis landscapes of AlUla finally come into view.

The journey to AlUla is as much about the ride as the destination. Long, open roads, enormous horizons and constantly changing geology make this a memorable chapter of the Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour, offering a true sense of the scale and diversity of the Kingdom.

After arriving in AlUla, the evening depends on our arrival time and local conditions. If time allows, we head to the iconic Elephant Rock (Jabal AlFil) to watch the sun set across the surrounding desert — one of the most spectacular natural landmarks in AlUla. Alternatively, we take a relaxed evening stroll through AlUla Old Town, surrounded by traditional mud-brick buildings and the dramatic landscape of the AlUla Valley.

We then settle in for three nights in AlUla, giving us time to explore the extraordinary archaeological sites, ancient kingdoms and landscapes that make this one of the highlights of our entire Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure.

7

Day 7. AlUla Heritage, Hegra, Dadan & Jabal Ikmah (40 km of local travel)

Today, we slow the pace and immerse ourselves in the extraordinary history of AlUla, one of Saudi Arabia’s most remarkable archaeological and cultural regions. With limited motorcycle riding, the day is dedicated to exploring ancient sites that span thousands of years of human history.

Our heritage experience begins with a professionally guided visit to Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important archaeological destinations in the Kingdom. Set among AlUla’s spectacular sandstone landscapes, Hegra was the southern outpost of the Nabataean Kingdom and is home to more than 100 remarkably preserved monumental tombs carved directly into the rock.

We continue to Dadan, the capital of an ancient Arabian kingdom that flourished long before the Nabataeans. The monumental remains and dramatic surrounding cliffs offer a fascinating glimpse into the sophisticated civilisations that once controlled the ancient trade routes through this region.

The journey through AlUla’s ancient heritage continues at Jabal Ikmah, often described as an open-air library of ancient Arabia. Its sandstone cliffs contain an extraordinary concentration of ancient inscriptions and rock carvings, providing valuable evidence of the people, languages and cultures that passed through AlUla over the centuries.

In the afternoon, we explore AlUla Old Town and the Oasis, where traditional mud-brick buildings, narrow lanes, date palms and ancient agricultural terraces create a striking contrast with the surrounding desert mountains.

The day concludes with dinner at a carefully selected local or international restaurant in AlUla, giving us the opportunity to relax and enjoy the region’s hospitality and cuisine after a day immersed in its remarkable history.

This is one of the defining experiences of our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour — a journey not only through spectacular landscapes, but through thousands of years of Arabian civilisation.

8

Day 8. AlUla Rest Day & Harrat Sunset Ride (80 km)

After several days of long-distance riding and exploration, today offers a well-earned change of pace. The morning is deliberately unstructured, giving you time to relax at the hotel, enjoy the AlUla Oasis, explore the surroundings on foot or choose from a range of optional activities.

In the afternoon, we return to our motorcycles for a relaxed ride through the spectacular landscapes surrounding AlUla. The route takes us through dramatic valleys and sandstone formations, with possible stops in Ashar Valley and outside Maraya, the extraordinary mirrored concert hall that has become one of AlUla’s most recognisable modern landmarks.

From the valley, we climb into the volcanic landscapes above AlUla towards Harrat Viewpoint. Located on the edge of the vast Harrat Uwayrid volcanic plateau, the viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views across the AlUla Oasis, sandstone mountains and surrounding desert.

Arriving in the late afternoon, we take time to experience the changing light as the sun moves across the valley, transforming the colours and shadows of the spectacular AlUla landscape. This is a relaxed and highly scenic motorcycle ride in AlUla, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take photographs and simply enjoy the extraordinary surroundings.

After sunset, we return to AlUla for another evening in this remarkable destination.

With its combination of premium relaxation, spectacular roads and unforgettable scenery, Day 8 captures another side of our Saudi Arabia motorcycle adventure — proving that an exceptional motorcycle expedition is about more than kilometres in the saddle.

9

Day 9. AlUla to Tabuk (370 km)

Today, we leave the extraordinary landscapes of AlUla behind and continue north towards Tabuk, entering a more remote and sparsely populated part of Saudi Arabia. With approximately 370 kilometres of riding, the route crosses vast plateaus, open desert and rugged landscapes that highlight the immense scale of the Kingdom.

As the sandstone formations of AlUla gradually disappear behind us, the scenery changes once again. Long, flowing roads stretch across northern Saudi Arabia, with enormous horizons and little development along the route. This is classic long-distance adventure riding — open roads, changing landscapes and the feeling of travelling deep into the heart of Arabia.

The journey towards Tabuk also follows a region shaped by centuries of movement, trade and cultural exchange. Located in northwestern Saudi Arabia, Tabuk has historically been an important crossroads between the Arabian Peninsula and the Levant, giving the city a fascinating place in the history of northern Arabia.

After arriving in Tabuk, there may be time to explore some of the city’s historical highlights. Depending on our arrival time, seasonal opening hours and local conditions, the program may include Tabuk Castle, the historic Hejaz Railway area or a traditional local market.

After several unforgettable days in AlUla, Tabuk provides a change of scenery and a new perspective on the history and landscapes of northwestern Saudi Arabia.

Tomorrow, the adventure continues towards Wadi Al Disah, where dramatic sandstone cliffs, lush vegetation and spectacular desert scenery await.

10

Day 10. Tabuk to Duba via Wadi Al Disah (330 km)

We leave Tabuk early and ride south and west into one of northwestern Saudi Arabia’s most spectacular natural landscapes: Wadi Al Disah. The road towards the valley takes us through vast desert terrain and rugged mountain scenery before we reach the meeting point for one of the expedition’s most memorable experiences.

Here, we safely park our BMW motorcycles and transfer into locally operated 4×4 vehicles for the journey deep into Wadi Al Disah. This carefully arranged experience allows the entire group to explore the inner valley comfortably and safely, including areas of soft sand, water crossings and rough tracks that are better suited to local 4×4 vehicles than to fully loaded touring motorcycles.

Surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs, natural rock formations, palm groves and clear water, Wadi Al Disah is an extraordinary contrast to the open desert roads we have travelled in previous days. The dramatic canyon landscape offers plenty of opportunities to explore, take photographs and experience one of Saudi Arabia’s lesser-known natural treasures.

After our Wadi Al Disah adventure, we return to the motorcycles and continue west through the changing landscapes of the Tabuk region, gradually descending towards the Red Sea coast.

Our destination is Duba, a historic coastal town overlooking the Red Sea. The arrival at the coast marks another major transition in our Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition — from the high desert and sandstone landscapes of the northwestern interior to the spectacular coastline that will accompany us over the next stages of the journey.

Tonight, we relax by the Red Sea and enjoy the feeling of having crossed another remarkable section of Saudi Arabia by motorcycle.

11

Day 11. Duba to Yanbu Along the Red Sea Coast (470 km)

Today is one of the highlights of our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour as we leave Duba and follow the spectacular Red Sea coast south towards Yanbu. With approximately 470 kilometres of riding, this is the expedition’s principal coastal riding day and one of the longest and most rewarding stages of the journey.

The route follows the coastline through the remote landscapes of western Saudi Arabia, with the Red Sea providing a dramatic backdrop as desert, mountains and coastline come together. Long stretches of open road, sweeping sea views and the changing colours of the landscape create an unforgettable experience for riders.

Along the way, we pass through or near the coastal towns of Al Wajh and Umluj, with carefully planned stops for fuel, refreshments, photographs and a chance to take in the scenery. Umluj, often referred to as the “Maldives of Saudi Arabia” because of its turquoise waters and pristine coastline, provides a natural and scenic midway point on our journey south.

As the kilometres build, the landscape gradually changes again as we approach Yanbu, one of the historic ports of the Red Sea. After a full day in the saddle, we arrive in the city and check into our hotel before heading out for a relaxed seafood dinner on the waterfront.

Tonight is about slowing down, enjoying the Red Sea atmosphere and reflecting on another extraordinary day of motorcycle riding in Saudi Arabia.

Tomorrow, we leave the coast and turn inland towards Madinah, before entering the dramatic volcanic landscapes of western Saudi Arabia.

12

Day 12. Yanbu to Madinah & the Harrat (260-300 km)

After breakfast, we take a final look at the Red Sea coast with a short visit to Yanbu’s historic district or waterfront before turning inland towards Madinah and the volcanic landscapes of western Saudi Arabia.

As we leave the coast behind, the scenery changes dramatically. The road takes us into the Harrat, a vast volcanic region characterised by black basalt lava flows, volcanic cones and rugged terrain. The contrast with the golden desert and sandstone landscapes experienced earlier in the expedition is striking.

One of the highlights is Harrat Rahat, Saudi Arabia’s largest volcanic field. Stretching across a vast area south and southeast of Madinah, Harrat Rahat contains extensive ancient lava flows and numerous volcanic cones, creating one of the most unusual landscapes on our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour.

The ride through this stark volcanic terrain is a memorable final chapter of our cross-country journey. After days of desert, mountains and Red Sea coastline, the dark basalt landscape provides yet another dramatic change of scenery and demonstrates the extraordinary geological diversity of Saudi Arabia.

We then continue towards the Madinah region, one of the Kingdom’s most historically and culturally significant areas. The main touring program focuses on the landscapes and heritage of the wider region, making the experience comfortable and inclusive for our international group.

For Muslim guests who wish to do so, optional religious visits in Madinah may be arranged, subject to access requirements, timing and local regulations. Other guests can enjoy the surrounding region and the evening at leisure.

Tonight, we rest after another rewarding day of motorcycle riding through Saudi Arabia, with the final stage of our expedition ahead.

13

Day 13. Madinah to Jeddah & Historic Al-Balad (410 km)

Our final major riding stage begins in Madinah as we head south towards Jeddah, bringing our cross-country Saudi Arabia motorcycle expedition towards its spectacular conclusion.

The approximately 410-kilometre route takes us through the changing landscapes of western Saudi Arabia, with another rewarding day of open roads and long-distance riding. After experiencing the Kingdom’s deserts, mountains, volcanic landscapes and Red Sea coastline, this final stage provides a fitting ride towards one of Saudi Arabia’s most important and cosmopolitan cities.

On arrival in Jeddah, we return our BMW motorcycles and complete the equipment handover before taking some time to relax and freshen up at the hotel.

In the late afternoon, we head into Historic Jeddah, Al-Balad, one of the most atmospheric urban districts in Saudi Arabia. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Al-Balad is renowned for its historic coral-stone buildings, narrow lanes, traditional souks and distinctive wooden rawasheen — elaborately decorated projecting windows that have become one of the visual symbols of historic Jeddah.

Walking through the streets of Al-Balad provides a fascinating contrast to the remote landscapes and open roads experienced throughout our Saudi Arabia motorcycle tour. This historic trading district has connected Jeddah with the Red Sea and the wider world for centuries, making it a fitting place to end a journey across the Kingdom.

In the evening, we come together for a formal farewell dinner, celebrating an extraordinary 14-day journey through Saudi Arabia. From the modern skyline of Riyadh and the ancient rock art of Jubbah to the monumental heritage of AlUla, the Red Sea coast, volcanic Harrat landscapes and historic Jeddah, the expedition has crossed some of the most remarkable landscapes and cultural regions of the Kingdom.

One country. Thousands of years of history. One unforgettable motorcycle adventure.

14

Day 14. Jeddah & Departure

After an unforgettable 14-day motorcycle journey through Saudi Arabia, the final morning is kept flexible to accommodate different international flight schedules.

Guests with later departures can enjoy a final taste of Jeddah at their own pace. Options include a leisurely visit along the Jeddah Corniche, a final lunch overlooking the Red Sea, or additional time exploring the historic streets, souks and architecture of Al-Balad.

When it is time to depart, private transfers take guests directly from the hotel to King Abdulaziz International Airport, ensuring a comfortable and seamless end to the expedition.

As you leave Saudi Arabia, you take with you memories of thousands of kilometres of extraordinary roads, ancient civilizations, vast deserts, volcanic landscapes, the Red Sea coast and some of the Kingdom’s most remarkable cultural treasures.

From Riyadh to Jeddah — a journey across Saudi Arabia that goes far beyond the road.
