The Premium Ducati Adventure Tour of Thailand is the right choice for riders looking to elevate their on-road experience while discovering the country’s varied splendor. Aboard full adventure-ready Ducati Multistrada 950´s, you will embark on 9 days of fun both on and off your bike. From the stunning misty hills and famous Golden Triangle attractions up north, you’ll sweep back south via the newly-paved Route 1290 that hugs the Mekong River between Thailand and Laos. It will be easy to see why many have dubbed it Paradise Road. As you clock up the kilometers aboard your L-Twin, you’ll cruise along the stunning hillsides near Phu Chi Fah, then descend back down to enjoy the great tarmac on the winding Route 1148. The following day, you’ll be amazed at the roads and scenery of Doi Phu Kha National Park and the Bo Klua Salt Mills. After a day of rest or voluntary riding around Nan, it’s onto the second half of your adventure, including a wooden ferry ride across the reservoir of Sirikit Dam before stopping in the charismatic lakeside town of Phayao. On the days leading back into Chiang Mai you round your tour off with some of the best roads in the north, including the 120, 1184 and the twists and turns as you climb Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak. This will be a journey filled with cultural discovery, mesmerizing sights, and of course the joy of riding a Ducati.

DEPARTURE TIME The tour will start in the morning 8.30am. Please be informed, that you arrived at least one day before the tour start in Chiang Mai. We recommend two days before tour start to acclimate and avoid jet lag.
RETURN TIME The tour will finish about 4/5pm back in Chiang Mai.

Day 1. Chiang Mai – Doi Angkhang (269 kms.)


The first day on your tour is nothing short of a brilliant transition from city to nature. We depart from DUCATI Chiang Mai (DART Asia) headquarters, loop counter-clockwise around Chiang Mai City and head north, stopping at the city’s outskirts for coffee. Your group then continues north toward the stunning Chiang Dao National Park to have lunch near the caves at the foot of the park’s verdant hills. We have lunch at a local restaurant and will discover the stunning Chiang Dao. After a recharge, we set out for the Daen Lao Mountain Range that runs along the Thai-Myanmar border, climbing to reach our beautiful destination among the lush greenery of Doi Angkhang.

Day 2. Doi Angkhang – Golden Triangle (213 kms.)


On the tour’s second day, your group starts their engines and heads for the Golden Triangle (near Chiang Saen). The ride takes you down through tree-hugged mountain roads into the valleys that encompass Thailand’s northern border and up to visit a hidden mountainside pagoda in Tha Ton. Leave Tha Ton to visit the long-neck Karen tribe village near the border of Thailand and Myanmar. Ride to Doi Mae Salong, where Chinese mountain tea farmers live. Of course, you will test Thailand´s best tea there. Then back on curvy roads to Doi Tung Royal Villa. Lunch is served at the Royal’s Project restaurant. Continue along winding roads to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand. Visit Wat Tham Pla where you can feed some food to wild monkeys. Reach the famous Golden Triangle to take a long-tail boat trip on the Mekong river and short visit a small village in Laos (no visa necessary). Visit the Opium museum before relaxing at your peaceful accommodation directly at the Mekong river.

Day 3. Golden Triangle – Chiang Klang (309 kms.)


The third day on tour takes your adventure into another gear. Departing the magical Golden Triangle, you will guide your Multistrada 950 onto Route 1290, riding along the edge of the Mekong River with Laos on the opposite bank. After this brilliant start, the tour heads south to have lunch beside Phu Sang Waterfall before navigating the 1148, one of Thailand’s most famed roads, combining fun corners and fantastic scenery. This fantastic stretch of tarmac will lead you to the next destination, Chiang Klang.

Day 4. Chiang Klang – Nan (154 kms.)


To reach Nan on the tour’s 4th day, our guides will lead you into Doi Phu Kha National Park, home to some of the most stunning mountain terrain in Thailand. The park’s roads flow over ridge tops and twist along hillsides with a stop in the valley of Bo Klua to visit the riverside salt mine. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then as you descend out of the mountains back down to level ground, the cozy town of Nan awaits.

Day 5. Rest Day in Nan


At the tour’s midway point, you can choose to take a rest and enjoy the charms and appeal of Nan’s myriad sights and attractions, or ride with our guides through the province’s beautiful natural scenery and farmland. Either way, you will have great opportunity to absorb the unique atmosphere of this special corner of Thailand. (Laundry service available)

Day 6. Nan – Phrae (282 kms.)


The second half of your tour holds just as much adventurous riding as the first. Your surroundings change from the open mountains northeast of Nan to the dense forest surrounding Sirikit Dam to the south. After the twists and turns of Route 1026, riders and bikes will traverse the reservoir via wooden ferry. Lunch is served at Sirikit dam. Then we continue on the highway passing through rice fields until we reach charming Phrae. It is a small city near Lampang and a few kilometers away from Denchai. Very few tourists come here to visit the area, but Phrae city and its surroundings worth to come. If you want to see authentic Thailand, the one not many tourists see, you definitely have to come here. Later you enjoy the beautiful accommodation with swimming pool.

Day 7. Phrae – Phayao (194 kms.)


It’s all about the joy of riding on Day 7. With the lakeside town of Phayao as the destination, we will take you on the great roads that meander through Mae Yom and Doi Phu Nang National Parks, a perfect way to enjoy the Multistrada 950 that you have gotten to know over the last six days. The great energy of the day will be complemented by the characteristic spark you’ll feel as you enter the atmosphere of Phayao.

Day 8. Phayao – Bhumibol Dam (342 kms.)


To get to Bhumibhol Dam on the 8th day, the tour delivers a beautiful combination of quality mountain passes and comfortable sweeping roads through the valleys around Lampang. First, out of Phayao the Multistrada´s will show their versatility on the grippy tarmac of Route 120, taking you over a hill and onto the 1035 heading south. After lunch, open highways and countryside lanes offer a relaxing ride to arrive at the dam.

Day 9. Bhumibol Dam – Doi Inthanon – Chiang Mai (357 kms.)


The final day of your Premium Ducati journey is one of its highlights. Your group will head north on quiet roads cutting through rice fields to arrive at the foot of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak. The road to the top is famous among riders throughout the country, and a route with its fair share of beautiful stops along the way. After that it’s a leisurely cruise into Chiang Mai around the back of the city to arrive at DUCATI Chiang Mai (DART Asia) headquarters.
